Retro Steam Pop Pop Boat
Includes: 2 candles, a tray, a pipe for filling in water and a rudder to change direction.
A timeless toy for children and adults to delight in.
Made from recycled material. A wonderful reproduction of the original Pop Pop Boat. These water-impulse engines date back to 1891. That is 129 years ago.
How does it work?
After pouring water into the boiler, place the candle in its tray and light it up. Place it under the boiler in the boat. The candle will heat up the water in the boiler, which creates steam. The steam expands causing the “pop pop” noise and forces the water out of the exhaust pipe, propelling the boat forwards.
As all the steam evaporates, a vacuum is created in the boiler, which will suck fresh water back into the boiler to keep it going. The boat will keep moving until the candle burns out.
It comes with everything you need to make it go:
2 candles, a tray, a pipe for filling in water and a rudder to change direction.
This toy offers a wonderful introduction to the science of how hot air and steam can make things go.
